Looking back on 2014

2014 Review2014 has been a pretty fun year over here at Mr Rumsey’s. More of you than ever before have stopped by to chat about film, whether that be new releases or old favourites, and it’s been great to both develop friendships with those of you who have been coming here for a while, and also to meet so many new people throughout the year. The growth of the site has enabled me to venture into new territory such as interviewing industry professionals, working with the Cambridge film festival and going to the Begin Again press conference, so thank you all for the part you played in that.

Wrong Turn 6 proved to be the most popular topic on my site this year when Mediocre Batman‘s Christian Robshaw provided the site with a FrightFest review and also when I sat down to interview both Sadie Katz and Aqueela Zoll, so a big thank you to Christian, Sadie and Aqueela there.

Thanks also need to go out to all of you who leave comments on the site; everybody who does is hugely valued by me as interaction like that is one of the best rewards that running a site like this can offer and I love receiving your feedback and talking movies with you all. I really appreciate everyone who comes and visits the site but special thanks must be given to the top five commenters this year; so thank you Mikey from Screenkicker, Eric from The IPC, Abbi from Where the Wild Things Are, Zoë from The Sporadic Chronicles of a Beginner Blogger and a huge thank you to Fernando from Committed to Celluloid who was the top commenter and whose total number of comments more than doubled the person in second place!

Lea Thompson, Agata Trzebuchowska and Melora Walters.

Looking forward to 2015 there will be interviews with Agata Trzebuchowska (Ida) and Lea Thompson (Back to the Future) to look forward to! Also be sure to keep your eyes open for my interview with Melora Walters (Magnolia) who’s one of my absolute favourite actresses and it was a real privilege to be able to interview her a week or so ago. Alongside the upcoming interviews there will of course be plenty of reviews to read and silhouettes to guess in the ‘Who’s That?’ quiz, so I hope you enjoy them!

All that’s left for me to say now is that I eagerly look forward to spending lots of time with you all discussing films during the new year! Have a blast tomorrow on new years and I’ll see you all in 2015!
