Leonardo Dicaprio takes on the mammoth acting task that he has been trying to get hold of for two decades…
This has been a long time coming for DiCaprio. The actor has had his eye on the lead role in the Billy Milligan biopic for around twenty years and he is finally going ahead with it. Billy Milligan was a man who kidnapped and raped three women in the late 70’s alongside a number of other charges including armed robbery. But that isn’t what makes this such a challenging role to take on, you see Milligan was the first person to be acquitted of his charges due to a multiple personality diagnosis. And to be exact it was a whopping twenty-four different personalities which were living inside his head.
The Crowded Room is adapted from Daniel Keyes’ book The Minds of Billy Milligan and has had everyone from James Cameron to David Fincher attached at one point or another. Actors such as Matthew McConaughey, Sean Penn, Johnny Depp and Brad Pitt have all been linked to the film in the past but now DiCaprio has finally secured the role he has wanted since the 90’s.
I personally think it sounds like fascinating material and I’ll be very interested in seeing how DiCaprio sets about tackling it. But what do you think? Be sure to let me know in the box below!
