It’s been a funny few months recently; as an avid Bond fan I am of course eagerly awaiting the next instalment in the series, especially so because of how far the bar has been set by 2012’s Skyfall. However as excited as I was about the film and the casting up until now the trailers hadn’t quite clicked with me. Perhaps it was just the overload of action in the last one… I don’t know. It no longer matters though because the newly released full length trailer blows the others away and has allowed excitement to hit fever point.
There’s a lot to take in within the new trailer but what hits you straight off the bat is the perfect blend of the Bond trademark humour, action and danger. Craig’s films have been slowly evolving into a new form of Bond movie; one which feels very modern (they can stand on their own without any real knowledge of who Bond is) and yet they are increasingly becoming further and further entrenched in the classic feel and style of the original films. Never more so in fact than now with the appearance of Blofeld (I’m calling it despite what Christoph Waltz says), Spectre and an Aston Martin with an array of gadgets for Bond to explore.
If you’re a bond fan like myself then when you check out the trailer below look out for the beloved On Her Majesty’s Secret Service theme song coming in at 1:45. Also keen-eyed viewers have spotted what looks like the DB5 at 0:40…
