What I’m Looking Forward to – Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Star Wars: The Force Awakens

There’s very little that needs to be said about why I’m looking forward to this one. I’m a huge fan of the orignial trilogy, I spent my childhood days running around with sticks dreaming, and in fact almost believing, that I was Luke Skywalker. The first film was the first film I ever saw in the cinema and so I’m crossing every finger that this somewhat lives up to the original trilogy.

  1. You and me both 🙂 But actually I still feel like there didn’t need to be any more Star Wars movies. There’s a part of me excited to see the new films, but also another part that feels like the ‘story’ is finished – a complete, perfect circle beginning with The Phantom Menace and ending with Return of the Jedi. Irrespective of the quality-level of all the six existing films, the actual ‘saga’ has a beginning and an end. To go beyond the Return of the Jedi ending isn’t necessarily going to add anything to the mythology and is purely a commercial/corporate enterprise. Which doesn’t make it bad, but it does make it ‘surplus’ in my opinion.

    1. I know exactly what you mean, the story is pretty much over but I don’t mind them continuing. It is excessive but as it is happening I’m more than happy to go along and see what they do!

      1. Yeah, that’s pretty much my attitude. But I’m sort of – in a bitch-type way – half hoping these new films are a bit off-the-mark just so that George Lucas isn’t made to feel even worse about how bad everyone thinks his prequels were!

        1. Haha well if I was a fan d them like you are then I might also feel like that!
I feel sorry for the guy but I very much hope that I prefer these new films!
